Euronews

The the Euronews website is a great place to practice listening to and reading Arabic. This site broadcasts daily in 10 languages: Arabic, English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Turkish and Farsi.

Because the site has video clips and transcripts, it's perfect for practising various skills as well as learning up-to-date, media vocabulary. And having the English translation on a parallel page means you don't need the dictionary to hand.

If you're new to this level of language, you could start by reading the transcript/news item, and then listen to the clip to hear how the words are pronounced. More advanced students can listen to the clip first and then check your comprehension against the transcript. The transcript isn't always an exact reflection of what the presenter says, but it usually covers a lot of the material.

Enjoy!
